Then it's "Find the Eye!"
I'm in no way agreeing with what jgalt did. I've done my share share of pulling pranks and shit, but never with the entention of hurting another. Embarrass the hell out of, yes. Hurt, no.

True... no one was hurt... but the point is it's not something to brag about... it was fuck'n stupid... and think'n we'd say anything different is just as stupid

point is simple... we don't encourage or tolerate that kind of shit. I'm all about pranks at work... and yeah even some of them are a little on the mean spirited side... but none will ever endanger anything more than a little pride. that being said... I think the OP has gotten the point... lets move on.. NB4TL |

Why? If someone injured me purposefully on the job, no matter how minor, I would make sure they got fired. If they are going to give you a jolt, how can you trust them when you are actually doing something hazardous? Your job is not like playing around at home. People should remember that when they are on the clock. If you don't like the people you work with, find a job somewhere else, don't endanger them.

Tomfoolery is not injuring someone on the clock.

I've been on the wrong side of 115 volt 3 phase 400hz before. Not fun I assure you. I did it to myself though. I was plugging in some equipment using a harness with metal connectors that are the screw in type. I was screwing in both ends at the same time and one of my fingers caught one of the 4 prongs and with my other hand on the grounded connector, I got zapped. Good thing I only got 1 phase but still 400hz wakes you up quickly.

I was a co-chair of electrical safety committee for several years at my job. I live and practice electrical safety in everything I do, I would fire an employee for purposefully shocking another employee. I couldn't trust that employee with any jobs that are required to be in this field and therefore they would be completely useless to me. That is honestly the way I feel. It's not like he had a shock pen or something goofy like that, he literally used work equipment to play this prank. Of course, most people don't have the strict rules my position requires to maintain employment. You can't torque a bolt unless it is written in a step by step procedure with specific guidelines and vendor documents supporting those guidelines and the procedure along with the torque wrench itself having full traceability and testing to ensure it is in tolerance.
