Ok gang I'm home finally! What a day!
I got to meet Kerry and Kathy, both very cool people! We had Dyer's Burgers for lunch, which was quite tasty! I got my Tennessee state line picture. That puts me at 47 states visited by way of motorcycle. Today's stats: 17-1/2 hours total time 14-1/2 of which was riding time, and a mileage total for today of 1,032 miles. And without further adieu, I am going to bed!

Great meeting & grabbing chow with you today, Tracy!
We rolled in ~7pm, after rolling around Memphis a bit & then flat-tracking up 40 back to Nashville. Hopefully you already made it back safe & sound, or will be any minute. That was a fairly long day for us @ nearly 500 miles - but doing 1k for a burger, fries & a shake (an over-rated/priced burger & fries at that, I thought - but the shake was pretty tasty! )? You're nutz, dood! And I mean that in the best possible way! EDIT: I see you rolled in and posted while I was cut'n'pastin' - cool, glad to see you made it safely! Without further ado ('cause it's about pass-out-thirty), here's the photographic evidence: The man, the legend: Pretty good framing by the wobbly 'early starter': Weapons of choice: The cool old house, built in 1918 & now part of the Central Gardens historic district, which I lived in for a few years as a kid: Kathy's bike was running a little rough, so we picked up some of the designated Gixxer additive-of-choice to get her home! Hardly an Iron Butt, but respectable for a burger-run: Last edited by Kerry_129; 05-24-2009 at 01:24 AM.. |

Awesome meeting you Tracy!!! I was tired after 450miles so you are a machine! Our timing was perfect. Right as we rolled through downtown Memphis after getting lost, I see the imfamous aerostitch rider on busa sitting at a traffic light. Beale street was closed off so we did some laps to find parking.
We made a new friend on our walk to Dyer's. Memphis has some of the most persistant bums I have ever seen. I'm surprised he didn't walk right in with us and sit down. Kerry may not have liked the burger but I thought it was very good. Kinda minced up and extra greasy. I'm from Philly though so I love some good greasy meat sandwiches. I just wish I had gotten the double double cause I was starving by the time I got home. Great to join you on one of your adventures. Too bad you live so far away. I would love to do more cross country runs on the GSXr. It is a sport touring machine at heart. Keep in touch!

didn't break 130 so it's all good
question is, what did the gixxer speedo show? I hear the zook speedos are a tad bit optimistic at that point.

Especially with +2 rear sprocket...
Kathy's with stock gearing reads about 5% high. I have yet to see a sportbike speedo that isn't optimistic by several percent. (Need to throw on my $30 ebay speedohealer when I do the valve check & p.a.i.r. valve removal soon. ) |
