The belt is considered "lifetime", but that depends on what lifetime is on a sportbike.
I usually replace mine at around 20,000 miles. For many sport bikes, this IS lifetime. The belts are not much if any more expensive than a good 530 X-Ring chain and you don't have to replace the sprockets. You also don't have to clean, lube, and adjust the belt. I still have one 2009 White and Blue 1125R.

I was tempted to swing by the Harley dealership and sit on one but last time I was in there the sales guys were horrid. |

Hold your nose, sit on one, and then call me. We'll show you what a Buell dealer is supposed to be like.
We are hoping to be able to get some additional models from a local dealer.

Just got back from riding a while and getting an early oil change.
I'm at <250 miles, but I've been exploring the rev range a la Motoman so I figure fresh oil would be a good idea.

To put it in the least amount of words, the thing is fookin' badass.
I still haven't dialed the suspension in and it's far from 'broken in', but already the power is there whenever I want it. I did get 'noided' for the first time today. Whacked the throttle in third and -bloop- it cut out. I was so frickin' scared I had broken something, but then I realized... third gear. I foresee a de-noiding in my future. Other than that, it's been nothing but fun. It'll be much more when break-in is done and I can just ride it without having to make a conscious effort to vary RPM and go light on the brakes.

The cool part is that the EPA BS is easy to defeat and the de-Noid module is only $6.
