I dunno many people who actually know what that means anymore...Maybe its bc of my dad but when I drive if anyone flashes there highs at me and there driving toward me...I automatically slow down.

I've done it to many people and always wonder if they know what it is im doing...There was only one time where a guy in a vette actually waved and had a "thanks for the heads up" look as he was probably about to rocket down the road.

I noticed it ALOT more when i was at the two rally's where cars would actually flash motorcycles...which I thought was a nice gesture.

i went to a get together at a local dealer. they started "teaching" guys about hand signals. everyone showed one and folks had to guess what it was. i did the tap on helmet.
the only one who knew it was a kid who rode in with his folks, he had a cbr600. next thing I heard was a guy saying that's what that meant.
yeah usually they wave back.

it would be harder to get ya for taping on your helmet. Figure most cops probably dont know what it means, and second you were just adjusting your helmet

I would venture a guess and say the Tap is more sportbike oriented than it is the Cruiser scene
