Let me get this straight, you play Jesus on a forum. And you follow 101 around like he holds the key to your cock ring. And you somehow think that's "cool"?
What are you a fucking washed up old man with way too curly hair trying to get is young fellas off your lawn? |

As soon as I see an opening, meaning if there is a good 1/4 mi before the next oncoming car, I'm there. I won't cut it too close.

I'll pass on a double yellow if it's clear and I know the area. Around my area I know most places where cops are known to hang. So outside my normal riding area I'll wait for a passing zone.
And I don't ever use both lanes when canyon riding. I don't need to get run the fuck over because I'm some hot shot who needs both lanes to ride. I'll stick between the yellow and white on that one.

If I've been behind a slower car/bike for a while and they don't seem to be turning anywhere or letting me by after a while and I see a clear line...I just go for it.
I don't make a habit of passing on a double yellow. That's why I don't go on many group runs if I don't really know the people because almost everytime someone in the group starts doing this and then it's on and you either do it or get left behind. I used to not have a big problem with this BUT I'm trying to be wiser in my old age. Last edited by z06boy; 11-23-2009 at 01:28 PM.. |

As for the original topic question, if it's a residential area, no (too much of a chance of ending up in someone's door)... if it's very curvy, no (who the hell knows what kind of maniacs are on the other side )... on a straightaway with no side entries? Mayyyyyyyyyybe.....

I will never forget the Gap this year though. A group of us were passing a Ford Contour and he gunned it to keep us from passing. I am not sure you can really say 'gun it' when referring to a Contour but it was amusing to watch anyway! |
