Straight data 'port then; no biggie. Just drop the data fields that you don't want.

Exactly, I'm not what you'd call a Linux Graybeard by anyone's standard but I've started and run a few boards with SMF software, which is not nearly as mature as VBulletin, and it's ridiculously easy to find where those options are. Hell, most of them are just checkboxes or pulldown menus.

I think that ultimately he did, stating that it was policy rather than physical impossibility. I was rather surprised to read the admission.
