Give it time. Right now the mods are seeing everything as teething pains, because of the migration of the forum over to vBulletin. It's easy for them to write stuff off as glitches, or temporary rules in place to keep the forum from taking a dump.

There are a lot of things being said now that people are going to wish hadn't been, in a month or two. It's best to leave those things unsaid.

Some of the mods not only moderate, but are substantial contributors. Once they figure out that they've been used and screwed over, it would be nice if they felt like they had a refuge to go to. No?

I like teasing stew about vbulletin. I didn't know anything about the software until I started this board and really still don't know much about it, but he was trying to write stuff off as they don't know how to integrate it in their package and I was giving him step by step instructions just like one of your members did and he would come back and say it's a "security risk." Basically anything they really don't want to do is called a "security risk."

None of the forums software is really all that hard. vBullettin, SMF, phpBB. vB and SMF are so easy to Admin and even patch/skin it's not even funny.

That's what kills me about all the 'bugs' and things that arn't working....

DB export, when it's as massive as the one over at CF and may contain data from various hacks, can cause a bit of an issue. some of the things happening are undoubtedly genuine issues. Others are not. Until the dust settles, the people who haven't seen this before won't be able to tell one from the other.

ours wasn't genuine issues, it was simple hacks we had before and things like memberlist that he tried to write off as bugs. We were VB already though.
