Given today's crappy savings rates, yes I would put *some* of it in stocks..........maybe only a quarter of it, and just a simple global stock fund, not any individual companies.

Heh.

Well, I think it all depends on stuff like, are you secure in your career and do you enjoy it, could you easily replace your job if it was lost, and are you free of other debt........If so, you should be able to absorb any losses that might arise from investing in stocks. Basically, the more secure someone is, the more risk they can take. It is the people living hand-to-mouth who shouldn't invest in stocks.

I know a guy from school who has over $100k in student loans for a Bachelors degree.
