Ebbs, there is a huge difference between 11 and 15 physically and mentally. 15 is still young yes but a little easier to swallow than 11. I know teenagers will have sex and there is nothing you can do to prevent it but 11? Come on. That's total parental failure. Your grandparents were at least married as well right? Again making it a little easier to swallow.

Where were her parents and what was their role in this whole thing? And the article doesn't state how she got pregnant...playground boys, rape?

11 is young to be already menstruating. Poor kid and kid.

11 is average. and once you start menstruating, your body IS ready for children. End. Of. Story. Mother nature takes care of things - having a period means your body is prepared to have children, it's how mother nature set it up.

For our culture, it's not the norm. For others it IS.

Right, and typically those culture's life expectancy tops out at 35...

What gets me, as a society, we're BETTER than this. Well, one would think. Unfortunately, the movie Idiocracy is becoming closer to the truth.

The interesting (sad) thing, is that those cultures where the life expectancy is so low, is not because everybody dies at 35, it's because the infant mortality rate is so high, that it brings the average down to 35.

And, children bearing children has "nothing" to do with that mortality rate...

Have you ever seen other cultures? I'd rather be at the top of the food chain, not mingling in the midst of it.
