I have steel shafted ping g10 irons. Custom fitted (length/lie/loft/flex), they were 145$ each.

spend more on the lessons than the clubs. once you jack up the fundamentals she'll spend the rest of her golfing "career" trying to fix the screw ups.

skip the lessons if she's not going to play all the time. Buy her 'the 5 fundamentals of modern golf' by ben hogan. Best golf instructional book ever written. 5 weeks of practice and she will have a nice, flat, repeatable swing.

I won't, I'm not that good. I took a golf class in college but I golf about twice a year, so I am really a 50+ average golfer(9 hole).
