True, if they have a job, they can always garnish wages. At least for federal loans anyway. But that's only if they are working!

Sometimes I think companies like Sallie Mae have more power than the freakin' IRS

Problem 1. She got a bullshit degree. The only way she could make money with those majors is to get her PHD and then teach other dumbasses at a college.
Problem 2. Because she is probably a lesbian looking for her "life partner" (that part in the article caught my attention) she made the dumbass choice of moving to an insanely expensive city to live in. Probably just so she could be trendy. She could have moved to Dallas, Atlanta, or other growing cities with plenty of job opportunities and been fine, even with her BS degree. Solution 1. Go to your $500 a quarter tech school and get an associates in nursing, rad tech, or lead paint taster. Solution 2. Move out of SF to somewhere cheaper. Atlanta has a huge gay/lesbian population (infact I think biggest in world now) and you can buy a 3bed 2.5 bath home with 2 car garage for $150k all day long. Oh yeah, you'll have a yard too and a bonus room over your garage. By the way I'd like to blame Budweiser for letting me get drunk by allowing me to purchase their products with little thought put into the consequences of excessive drinking.
