iPod Nano took a dump

Would work well in a vehicle with Sync, since they are plugged in and charging at all times anyway.

This. My nano stays plugged into my truck. And it still worked great on a long ride the other day.

You're perhaps not the typical user.

Most would have returned to the store, reset the machine, or let the battery run out and see if it unsticks.

Smashing the unit is considered "user error".

I did let the battery run out. Recharged it tried to reset it, no luck.
