Maybe I missed something with all of you going on about what he did wrong after the leak but.... I work with acetylene every day. Who the fuck stores a tank inside of a vehicle? That is just retarded. That goes for propane, gasoline, butane, charcoal lighter fluid, etc.... Seriously, what a fuck stick!

I've got 5 work vans where the guys store the acetylene bottles inside. 2 of the vans have oxy / act cutting outfits inside. Vans make it a little tough for outside storage. Hopefully they are smart enough to turn the bottle off instead of just the torch head.

It makes me cringe. Thankfully, I have a pickup truck so my acetylene rig is outside. Being a plumber I / they haven't got too many gas options when it comes to using a torch. Since we are all on call we just can't leave the bottle at the shop and pick it up when needed. I printed out these pics and hung them on our board at the office just so they can see them and hopefully it will hit home on what they are riding around with.

We have Oxy/Acet Torches in our service trucks too. It not a big deal. Just maintain your shit and don't be an idiot.
You want to see some pretty careless use of Acet bottles, check out Steel Fabricators working on site. Hoisting them up 3 or 4 stories with a rope tied around the valve
