Congrats on the bike.

I say if she wants pink, let her have pin. I don't understand why people worry so much about resale. I know its important but I would never buy something if I'm thinking about selling it before I even put my money down on it (unless I'm buying it to sell for profit). I doesn't make since. I bought my R6 because I wanted it, and at that point didn't really want to ever get rid of it. Damn I miss that bike.

But I think she should make the bike hers and enjoy it.

That's where I'm at... Obviously, I'm not against going all out to make a bike "unique"... I'm with you, who's trying to sell it? besides, we live in a college town that is over 60% women so the odds of selling a pink bike are much higher here if she ever decides to. Plus we have a large black population, most of which are female and quite a few black female bike riders (a black girl bought her old bike), whom would be likely to appreciate a pink bike. Lastly, she only wants to paint parts that are easily and cheaply replaced... heck, I can get the rims for about $200. I have her talked into starting slow on the pink and focusing on learning to ride the bike first. I'm very concerned because she has developed some nasty "250 habits" which I need to address!!!

What's a nasty "250" habit?

Real question, no sarcasm.

Probably just a small thing that is fine on a 250, but when you get on a bigger bike, can bite you in the ass before you know it.

I say tell her to ride for one year before painting. Not of the "dont get pink" but it sure does suck to have something done and then wreck.

Congrats on the new bike!

I think the pink she wants is WAY overboard but I'm a fan of plain.

Here is a link to a local girl that added some "girlie color" to her '08 without overdoing it, IMO.
