Rode it to work this morn, cleaning it fixed a mysterious clicking noise...
I'm gonna tighten the slack on it tonight... then when I get my Scotts Oil Filter in the mail, she's getting the oil changed and the switch to Rotella T 5w-40. WOO WEE.

My center stand was probably the best investment I've ever made for the bike. I throw it up on the center stand and it literally takes me less than 10 minutes for a basic chain cleaning and lube (every 2nd ride or so) and I do a thorough cleaning every month.

It's served me fairly well over the years.

I did my chain maintenance every 250-300 miles. If I did more than that in a day, I did it at the end of the ride.
It was real easy to keep it clean that way. If I went a long time between cleanings it was much harder and used a ton more chain clean. This way I was able to clean it fairly quick. |

I typically clean my chain with kerosene, but the other day i was out. So I used Simple Green. It really worked great. I was kinda suprised. Then I put the Chain Wax on after the ride.
I never thought about a centerstand, but it would make lubing the chain much easier. I've thought about the gloves, but I just use massive quantities of GoJo

Probably best to stick with Kerosene or an actual chain cleaning product.
