I'd like to hear more about the P22 problem, maybe a link.
I don't like the sig safety is near the mag drop I have bumped once or twice just on the airsoft model I have. |

So I bought a Walther P22. It was supposed to be my wife's first gun and it looked cool, so we were happy. The guy at Cabella's told us it like hot ammunition, so we bought CCI stinger's and took it to the range. My buddy went with me, and this is a guy that can hit a pop can 300 yards away with an HK USP .45 consistently, so he knows guns. A couple of others came too, plus me and Ulu - seriously, everyone wanted to try this thing.
Well, the first problem was the magazine release. It dropped the magazine whenever you pulled the trigger, took us forever to figure this one out. Again, me and the other guys all own triggar-guard mag release weapons, so it isn't user error, the thing is just weird. Well, we got over that, but the gun kept fucking up. Jams, stovepipes and misfires 5-7 rounds out of ten. And the worst problem, after less than a hundred rounds we noticed the problem that made me take it back - the spring pin on the slide under the safety had started to protrude out the left side and you COULDN'T SAFETY THE WEAPON. It went bakc to Cabella's the next day and I bought a Ruger MkII which has never given us a problem. You could drop this thing out of a moving car, it's rock solid. So fuck walther, hooyah Ruger.

You know, I loved Stingers when I was younger... but since doing some reading on RFC, I don't see myself putting them through any .22 that I give a damn about anymore.
And you should have known the Ruger MKII was the right choice from the beginning.

Thanks ok cross off the walther. I don't know much about guns but I'll be getting one soon. I just can't decide if I want a .40 cal or a 9mm? And I really can't decide what brand though the glocks drop it in the mud and still fire rep is pointing me that way. I've also been looking at the new modular sig cause I want to get the 22lr barrel also.

If you want more killing power, go with the .40, if you want to shoot it a lot and don't want to spend a lot more per box of ammo, go with the 9mm.
Either way, you have a wide assortment of models to choose from, most of which are currently out of stock fucking everywhere thanks to panic buying.

Normall I would not buy from a big box store but cabellas has lots to choose from. I still need to get my buyers permit anyway. I also need to get a small safe cause I will not have a gun in the house with out one. My step sons are good kids but still.
