That would be prety cool. my friend had a 55 or a 75 gal a ways back and we caught some baby large motuh bass and bluegills and he kept them for a while, also had a few channel cats we caught as well, those fuggers ate everything you put in the tank though.

Can you get a pickrel or would have to catch one?

I used to have bluegills. Awesome fish to keep, very active and more agressive than a prison gang with a boxfull of spoon shivs

Can't buy anything north american from my LFS but there's a couple of websites that will mail you fingerlings for around twenty bucks which ain't bad at all. Much better option than catching since south jersey's waters tend run to the acidic side of the ph scale and many fish never reach their intended sizes, also my bluegills had more parasites than lindsay lohan after a weekend in vegas

isnt it just the initial set up is whats tough then its little easier maintaining everything?

yes, tough both financially and educationally (learning curve) if you have never done it before.
i keep a 150 reef, and once a year or so i am buying light bulbs, or salt or some other additives. some things you can get from other sources outside of the aquarium industry too.

I heard the corals can be realy tough as well. My old boss was big into saltwater tanks, I was always interested in them but didnt have the time/energy to get one going. I had several freshwater tanks as a kid and had a prety good knowledge of them but never got into salt water.
