If someone is 35 or older, as many of us are, why would we know him? We're not going to be listening to Top 40 very much.

Now, I personally know who he is, but that is only because I like a couple of his songs. But I don't watch TV, so I'm not going to know about his awards and such, because I couldn't care less who wins what (those awards are all fake and pre-decided anyway).

It's not being under a rock. I'm very much up on the music scene. I just don't pay attention to shit music.

How can you say you are up on the music scene if you only listen to one type of music and everything else ever made is shit?

Being into 'music' doesn't have to mean keeping up with all genres.

I'm within spitting distance of 40, and I gotta agree. Y'all have been been under a rock.

Are you guys up on the latest classical music? celtic music? jazz music?

No? Guess you must live under a rock then.

By the way, "TI" is not in the media very much, unless you read one of those hip-hop magazines. Mainstream media does not talk about him as much as they do people like Taylor Swift, and not nearly as much as they talk about Hilton, Kardashian, Anniston, etc........

And even if you listen to the radio all day, Jason Derulo gets way more play than TI does..........

So again, how is everyone supposed to know about him? There are only so many hours in a day, you can't know something about everyone.
