Yeah, watch the vid. All the XD one does is push the loaded rounds down for you. By the looks of the one Gman posted, it will push down and place the next round with just a squeeze.

Forgot to mention the H&K but goof did I see. I love their guns! The full size is huge, the compact is really nice but not really small, more like a sub-compact. Ruger still makes some good guns, I've had a P-85 since they came out. Beretta's are always good too...hell, I like em all!!
Berettas are garbage. I absolutely cannot stand any one of them I've ever shot, and I've shot a lot of them. They feel like crap, shoot like shit, and cost way more than they are worth.

Glock makes some nice pieces, but I'm a big fan of the Springfield xD series, as well as damn near anything S&W. Taurus makes really nice budget handguns as well.

If you have the coin to spend, Kimber and H&K make some really nice pieces as well.

I ordered a crossbreed minituck holster for my new kahr mk9... hoping it shows up soon, i
i'm psyched

also for anyone who always says 22lr is the best/only first gun option... that's true that it's a good option but not the only one and especially ONLY if you don't intend to carry or use for home defense... It's a similar argument to saying everyone should start on a ninja 250.

Got my license in the mail today. Still haven't bought a pistol, but at least I'll be able to carry right away. I think I'm leaning more toward a revolver at this point. And it's not like I've never shot or handled pistols before, I've just never owned one. I've been around guns my whole life and own several long guns. But, regardless, I think this is a bit different than the first motorcycle argument.

I'm hoping to go down to the courthouse and get my paper work for the permit in about 2 weeks.

Is it wrong that I was better armed/more ready at home than I am here in a "combat zone"?

Yes, it is. Seriously, that shouldn't be. Are you allowed to be armed on bases here in the States?
