Never hit a snake on my bike but when i was a teenager in SoCal, I did a few burnouts on rattlesnakes in my Camaro.

I hit a snake and wasn't as lucky as fasternyou - the fucker nailed me as its last move in life. Thankfully it hit my boot and only left two small marks in the leather. Scared the hell out of me though

I've hit them in hill country before nothing large though mainly smaller 2-3 feet ones. I would imagine there's a good chance one could spin around and bike you those things are fast. Just another reason to wear riding boots if you ask me...

Yeah. I discovered the hard way later on that apparently the leather was comprimised to the point where water seeps through the holes (I thought, "No way would he have gotten through the thick leather!") but that was almost 2 years later so it must have weakened the spot to the point where it eventually gave out. I beat the piss out of those boots anyhow and have since replaced them with an almost identical set.

My husband hit one last time we went out. He did not realize what it was and there was a pothole on the other side of the lane. I did not realize what it was either until I passed right behind him.

Damn, I guess it's more likely than I thought! I know his head was close to my ankle... time wise he was probably a couple 100ths of a second from digging in.

I'm thinking it was a one in a million shot since it hasn't happened since

I've only hit one and must admit that I raised both my legs up as high as I could without upsetting the bike or falling off... like a scared little girl.

He was about 4 or 5 feet long and I knew he could raise up for the one last bite like what happened to Particle Man.

Now I've caught a few snakes in the yard and turned them loose back in the yard so I'm not overly afraid of snakes but the one in the road on the bike came up sort of fast and I didn't know what kind it was and that's different.
