i think so, you learn to watch around you more and pay attention to your surroundings. I am also much more aware when a bike is nearby.

I actually cut a car of the other day going to work because he was right up this bike's butt in stop & go traffic and I didn't want him to rear-end the guy so he could make it to work 8 seconds faster. I got behind the bike and followed at a much safer distance.

Anyone ever Been cutoff by a Car on there bike and Retailiated??

I am a more defensive driver, and mellow too (but that can be because of speeding tickets and i have lost the ability to charm cops out of them). I no longer tailgate and late brake and am more aware of my surroundings. I'm also a horrible backseat driver now too, i hate riding in other people's (mostly non riders) car because they drive in a way that i don't.

And yes i try to buffer other riders when i am in the car as well.

Oh yeah and drivers in Jersey do suck. Majority is the JAPS/soccor moms and their big SUV's that their husbands put them in so they don't get crushed when they crash into things.

All riding a bike did for my driving a car was make me almost hit cars instead of bikes because I was looking at bikes now instead of cars.
