It is supposed to shock us that an 1125cc motocycle won by over 6 seconds when racing 600s?

Sunday is more or less a repeat of Saturday with the #9 Buell won again.
Say what you want, Danny Boy can ride that Buell. You don't see Higsbee winning anything, right? I was rooting for Aprilia, but it's refreshing to see another brand took dominance; at least for this one weekend, other than the typical Japanese fours.

There are a couple in the Superbike series. Thus far not doing too well.

So what is the difference in the two bikes that allow it to be able to run in both classes ? I mean Ducati can't enter a 1125 in the smaller class, right ? It just doesn't make sense to me that Aprillia...Ducati and Buell can run the larger engines against the smaller inline fours. It even seems a little odd that Triumph can run a 675 in this class but at least that's closer. ![]() AMA racing is just weird since the change in ownership....but hey...I'm just glad they are still racing. ![]() |

Comparable liter twins make about the same hp as a 600 I4, it's a matter of valve area. The twin will make more torque, but they also get a 20 lb weigh penalty (subject to increases based on performance).
