mind you a great boyfriend isn't necessarily the same as a great husband. Sometimes the traits you want in a boyfriend are not great for husband material.

Hey don't drag me into that old gag.
Some people are too much of a rush to get married and they get caught up in the whole thing.

Some women get so caught up in the wanting to get married and all the pomp and circumstance that their perception of the their boyfriend is completely different than the reality of who the guy really is. Blinded by romance...

I've seen a few divorces where the women were complaining how the guy turned into an asshole after they got married.

No sweetheart...he was an asshole all along. You just didn't want listen.

I agree with a lot of that there but I think a lot of husbands become complacent.

Working in homes I saw a lot of it first hand. Good looking wife and a husband who is more worried about his college football team and golfing with friends than spending time with his wife. But at the same time he probably obsessed with the same shit when he was 20 as he does now that he is 40. She's just not into it at all anymore and now he's fat too. I think the divorce problem comes from this.

Women marry men hoping they'll change
Men marry women hoping they'll never change.

Sometimes what it comes down to is that people just change as they grow older.
Hopefully a couple can change together gracefully.

I find the answers amusing since a know a lot of you would say, "Fucking cheater" if this happened to you. The person with the married person is just a guilty.

Paul nailed it: nobody "becomes" an ass after getting married... They were like that the whole time.

Now, people get GRUMPY as they get older...

to answer the question: neither. I've been cheated on way too many times to put anyone through that crap.

Sometimes they are an ass to others but not to you and try hard to keep assphatdom at bay. Then you get married and they stop trying and unleash their assholeness at at you.
