Most of the employees at HD dealership Cycle Connection in Joplin, MO ride something other than Harleys. And the owner is just fine with it.

We're only a distributor of Redbull, but I'm half tempted to go deck my ninja out with Monster graphics and ride to work because I'm tired of the "we're redbull and we ONLY give our clothing and support to athletes"

I told our Divisional Texas manager in a meeting, let me know when you get some winning athletes and I'll share you're sentiment. Thus sparked the great motorsport debate as to which it came to be known around our office/warehouse.

It was never an issue for me working for Chrysler or Mercedes. They did try to give exclusive up close parking to Mercedes drivers but that got struck down after a few complaints to HR.

Of course I worked for the Financial arm and not Motors so its like a much different culture for the UAW and those who put the cars together.
They would hire you, but after a few weeks you would be wishing they didnt. Your coworkers would harrass you non stop until you either quit or buy a new car

That's interesting. At Mercedes Benz we had quite a few employees who drove BMW's. It seems to me that if any manager or HR rep were to bother them about it in any way they would have a lawsuit on their hands very quickly.

I used to work for a huge Toyota distributor for the SouthEast. If you purchased a new vehicle while working there and it wasn't a Toyota product, you got a visit from your Director. One of the many reasons that shithole was a fucking bullshit place to work.

That's interesting to hear to hear.

Did you ever meet Jim? He is supposed to be a great guy. Because he is such a bigshot, you rarely hear anyone dare to speak ill of the company.

I saw a crew from one of his yachts at lunch last week. As they left, they walked toward a Tundra and a Ranger.

Only the guy not wearing a GL shirt dared to get in the Ford.

Never saw it happen myself, but I heard this is what happenned. Met the old man a few times while I worked there; he died a few years back. He was very cool. Worked on one of his pet projects (YATC). He used to swim laps in his private lap pool in the main building every day to stay sharp. He was cool, the people I worked for were not.

When we were in the Abacos last year, we pulled our boat up to a dock and guess who was there? One of the small Gallant Ladys was fueling up. I looked closely to see if any of my old managers were on it - but no. We also passed one of the 150' GLs out near Nippers. I mooned them as we went by.
