another no win sit.

our old school dist. implemented a "if you're closer then 2 mi, kids have to get themselves to school" parents bitched

if you provide bus service for less then 2 milers, people bitch cuz "its so close"

our dilema is going to be that, our grade school is less then 2 mi, BUT kids would have to cross a major intersection (future hwy).

It will weed out the slower kids, surviival of the fittest at work

We were just under the 2 miles to get to school and I some how survived ( I had been known to run with scissors too on occasion) and I either walked, rode a bicycle or bummed a ride.

I blame it on a greedy, “entitled”, socitey. Far too few people take responsibility for their own actions anymore.

That, and it should be a requirement to have a conscience to be a lawyer.

That is how our school district works. It's amazing how people figure it out. Both my daughters get themselves to school, and have been for years.

It's sad to me that a school has a retarded policy like this. Not only is it more expensive for the district - it's costly on the environment. Retards.

Just another perk of living in a litigious society where the administration has to do all they can to protect against that 1 worst case scenario that could maybe possibly happen.

It sucks. But in the schools defense I'm sure if they did get hit and the child/mother killed that school would probably be sued out the ass. People want to take risks but when the risk bites them in the ass they want money.
