Cool pics
Did anyone get any shots from Meridian Street at night? I was there Thurs, Fri and Sat nights. I think Saturday night had the most bikes. |

I don't know exactly where that monument is, but it's as far as we got downtown. Lots of bikes there too.

From the monument, they had the road blocked south all the way until the underpass, on Meridian St, then a block east and west. There was a Jagermeister outdoor area serving Jager and beer, and also where they had bike dynos. Lots of bars and restaurants to hang out in, I'd recommend the Wild Beaver Saloon
The Indiana Soldiers' and Sailors' Monument is a 284 feet (87 m) tall neoclassical oolitic limestone and bronze monument in the center of Indianapolis, Indiana (and Marion County, Indiana). It was erected to honor Hoosiers who were veterans of the American Revolution, territorial conflicts that partially led up to the War of 1812, the Mexican-American War, the US Civil War, and the Spanish American War. It was designed by German architect Bruno Schmitz and was completed in 1901. In addition to its external commemorative statuary and fountains, the basement of the monument is the Colonel Eli Lilly Civil War Museum, a museum of Indiana history during the American Civil War. There is also an observation deck that can be reached by stairs for free or by elevator for a $1.00 charge. It takes 331 steps to reach this deck, 330 of which are numbered. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Soldier...ndianapolis%29 Last edited by Hydrant; 09-03-2009 at 11:42 PM.. |

we didn't hang around meridian long. The biker crowd that was there wasn't our type of crowd and the two drunks were annoying the ever living shit out of the rest of the group and they were forced to take us back to the hotel.

Nice pics. I only wish I could have been there. Oddly enough, as much as I and my kid are involved in racing...we've never been to any pro race of any kind! We're always spending our every penny on our own racing. LOL I really hate that I couldn't go to this round though, it was our last chance to see the 250s.
