Maybe this will sway the Dr's and Lawyers off the Harley's and force HD to make REAL changes to encourage new buyers.

Most of my distance rider buddies have reluctantly switched from Ultra's to GW's because of reliability and longevity. I can see this appealing to them.

To ME, it looks like it needs to be parked out in front of the Blue Oyster [cue tango music]

All I know is reverse on a MC takes a LOT of getting used to, especially when you are used to ~ 400lb bike and that cow is well over 800!

I'd be nervous with reverse.. how fast does it go anyway? Is it the same speed as backing it up by foot? That wouldn't be so bad..

It took me a few minutes to get used to the new look, but I like it overall.

Again for the hater before you call the GL1800 a cow put your ass on one for the day. They will AMAZE you with how well then handle and how light they feel. Among the bikes we own are 2 GL1800's They handle better than anything else in there weight class, and far better than may machines 250-300 pounds lighter. Should any of you want to test this and you find yourself in Souther West NH stop by I will let you take one for the day
As far as reverse goes, it is a simple re-tasking of the Starter Motor so reverse is never faster than a slow walk.

How many plastic panels do you need to remove to do any kind of service?

Most of it is easy enough to get too . The worst job is the Airfilter about 2 hours of taking off and putting on to to swap the air filter the rest is a breeze.

The only things different are the trunk is missing, the seat is different and the windshield is chopped. Everything else is exactly the same as the current model only blacked-out (as all good motorcycles should be). I like it!

I hear ya nut on haters. But it goes even for the HD haters. They want them to change, but what they don't realize is that they have changed and continue to change. But they don't change the look, and they don't understand that it's an appeal, a positive not a negative.

But haters will hate.
