Its the spouse rule.

Any secret told to a married person should be assumed to be passed on to the married persons partner (assuming the married couple is in a healthy married relationship....)

My ability to keep a secret is directly proportionate to how much trouble I will be in should said secret leak into the public domain.

I.E. My buddies wife is having an affair? I would probably spill it eventually.

My buddies wife is having an affair with me? I will take it to the grave. Sooner than later if my wife finds out.

Yeh, but 99% of the time I process and dump any info given to me. I hear secrets at work all the time, part of my job, and i'm required to keep them confidential so I really got into the bad habit of not remembering stuff.
