Good find....Don't let the mileage scare you...now it will be contest to see how high you can get it!!

I bought a work truck like that a few years back for very little money, 1992 Chevy Silverado, 290K on the clock. Ran great. I did some small work on it and flipped it to a new owner and made $2500 in the process.

I was shocked at the mileage at first, but if it'll last you that long yet then I'm happy for you.

Ok, I has t3h pix now.

The night I picked it up. Friend dropped me off and I drove about 2 miles away before pulling into a well lit parking lot and doing the OMFG dance!

After a light cleaning, in front of Atlanta Motor Speedway.

The pain is worn and would love a wax job but overall the body is very straight.

This is the infamous tear in the drivers seat. Owner sewed it back up and it should last me along time. I don't know why more people don't think of this. SO MANY of the trucks I looked at had seats that were just annihilated.

Space for 3 in the back, with cup holders! Should be noted that I may spend a lot of time sleeping back here on my drive up!

Space for 3 up front as well. 4 cup holders in the front with the 2 in the back being reachable from the front. I can go a long ways on the highway with this thing!

Hidden space for manly stuff that I don't own yet.

Rhino wanna be stuff in the back and a rubber mat bolted down.

Stereo system isn't all that wonderful but the 6 cd in dash is nice.

Put 100 miles on it today.

And the business end of things. The turbo makes driving unbelievably fun. Once the exhaust and intake arrive I am sure my MPG will drop way down.

what's your range? as far as fuel I mean

I'd suggest getting some new tires if yours aren't on the better side of 70%... there are places in the road will kill your tires... especially in the summer...

Thanks. I am on my first tank right now so I won't really know but being stock and with some conservative driving I should be able to get between 16-20ish. I probably wont get that since I have been spooling up the turbo for my friends.

I can expect the mpg in the 15-16 range but it will be a constant battle. With engine mods, tuning and some fuel additives I can really get that bumped up however with those mods comes the tendency to drive faster which then kills that mpg. Stuff like bigger tires and wheels will do nothing more then murder it.

I have a 29 gal tank but I can do a easy mod which allows me to fill it up to 35 gal. I may ride the tires out to AZ/CA/OR and then put some new ones on right before the Alcan highway. I have a little bit of steering wander and I sort of want to fix it before I leave but it isn't bad enough that it needs to be fixed. I just don't want to take things apart and get myself into a expensive situation with a big trip ahead of me.

The amp has "high power" inputs and it should work okay with the stock speakers until you can upgrade them.

My parents have a similar rig with the 36 gal tank. They go an easy 500 miles per fill up, usually closer to 600.
