My RC51 was all gear its kind of heavy but does sound nice once you remove the extra spring loaded back lash removing gear.

Well, it appears that I may need to do this mod earlier than I had suspected. I took a little ride the other evening and noticed that it is making a ticking noise below a certain RPM. I'm figuring that it has to be this tensioner.......

Zukimon,
Are you going to go with the APE cam chain tensioner? I saw the model numbers you had listed, but I wasn't sure if this one would work. I bought this a couple of years back for my 2002 CBR F4i, but ended up getting it replaced when it was at the Honda shop. I'll have to look around to double check to make sure it's still around. |

Hydrant, that looks very much like my stock one as far as the mounting but I don't think that it is the same number that I need from APE. ???
If you look at this chart from their site, you can see that the one that I need is a different part number as well as a different gasket number. Quote:

Zuki,
Just let me know if it will work, and if it does, you can have it for $20 bucks (shipped). I've had it for a while, and just glad to see someone be able to use it and not be sitting in a drawer. Let me double check to make sure I have it. |

Looks to me like the 929 & 954 use a different CCT than all the rest.
