Nice truck.

My gramps had an older chev (looks around the same time/age).

Damn thing sounded great even stock.

The nicest thing about that truck? No depreciation! Ten years from now your new truck probably would be worth about 20% of what the sticker OTD price was, if not less. That thing? Probably worth damn near the same amount you paid for it. I am buying a old tow-vehicle in the next year or two, putting some work into it.

Shouldn't
Just be sure to match the viscosity to your climate and the way you do most of your driving.

...and the s10 isn't mine. I had a 99 Sonoma in the body style and you couldn't pay me to own another small truck.
Synthetic isn't going to cause any issues other than burning a tad more during warmup since it doesn't thicken as with conventional. Therefore you need to check the level more often.

Congrats! I always loved that body style....now with all the $$$ you saved over new, get some new upper/lower control arms, drop spindles, 14" Slotted Brake Rotors and matching oversized calipers for up front, Do the disc brake conversion in the rear along with a shackle drop kit, some nice rims - 20X8 up front and 20X10 in the rear and you'll have a truck that handles as nice as it looks!

Cpngratulations. Those are great reliable trucks and not a bad platform to go little nuts on (hot rod) if you are of a mind to,

That's an 85? Looks like an older body style, for some reason.

From what I've read 85 was a transitioning year for a few different body designs.

Here are a few pics I shot last week.

Now you need ARE or Cragar wheels, a big dash-mounted tach, and a dual exhaust system.

It's 2009, man... '85 IS old. The platform was essentially unchanged from '73-'87 ('90 for the Suburban, Blazer, and 1-tons). That grille style was used from '83-'87.

So... a C-10 Silverado with air, cruise, tilt wheel, PL/PW, aftermarket stereo (I assume... they didn't have kick-panel speakers in '82, at least). And it all still works, the cab corners haven't rusted out, and all of the trim is on?? Nice score!
