It's called a "Morality Clause" and there are many jobs that require you sign one when you accept their employment offer.

Its a strange thing to witness. When I was in first grade we had plenty of recess/lunch time, and no homework...yet we all learned to read just fine. My son's first grade teacher sends home so much work that if we did it all it would be ALL he got to do after school....every day, they barely have any lunch or recess time (30 min combined) yet 90% of the class still has to stay an extra hour a day for "tutoring."

I mean, I know I'm Baby Gorilla Part Deux....but it just seems to me like its all part of a bigger goal to prepare kids for a lifetime of paid slavery.

Giving it a special name and putting it in a contract doesn't make it right. Its still none of their business.

Whatever, it's been there in many industries forever - it's just now that it's making the news.

Guys on my husband's ship got written up for debauchery at a crew engagement and they are an offshore drill crew. With them the behavior is almost assumed and expected... so, I find this woman being fired not outside of the bounds.

Or its just now that companies/schools or whatever have the means to find out what you're doing on your time off...

What's wrong with minding your own business and holding employees accountable for the job they do while they're at work?

What's wrong with it? It's an incredible distraction. It takes away from the educational experience.

I think there are many things wrong with our school districts right now. THIS one I can't argue, chances are she knew she was walking a line and made the choice. I don't understand how anyone can work for a school district and moonlight in porn and think they would keep their job. What it comes down to, the district doesn't need to have a reason - it's called AT WILL.

Its invasive and bad for society. If no one is being harmed minding your own business is always the best policy. A distraction? Every woman who is of decent weight and looks is a distraction for teenage boys. Lets fire all the women for giving boys boners!!

All the energy they used suspending this lady, investigating, talking to the media, etc....could've been much better spent educating kids. You know, the thing a school is supposed to be doing. Hell, maybe she was trying to make her way out of porn and get a more "legit" job. Guess she's stuck now huh?

I actually have a stripper friend who went through this a couple of months ago. She's trying to not be a stripper anyone, landed a good job that she was excelling at, and then got fired when they found out she was a stripper....so now she's back to taking her clothes off for money and trying to stop guys from fingering her every night.

I'm not naive, I know how it works....I'm just disagreeing with it. Our priorities are very backward in America, and I'm just sick of sex and the human body being equated with evil and "bad for children." Rich Franklin was a High School math teacher by day and trained to maul people's faces in by night while fighting on the weekends....schools don't have a problem with violent hand to hand combat, only the human body I suppose.

I agree.

You are assuming that she has one.

She's a secretary at a school, I'm guessing she doesn't. If she did, it should have been mentioned in the article.

Sure, unless you knowingly SIGN it. At that point it's a contractual obligation.

Oh, I get it. I came this > < close to running for school board this year. We are right now in a budget crisis - 200 teachers have been laid off as of this week. But yet, they have the nerve to bring up a new program they are planning on voting on to implement drug testing for every student that requests a parking pass. Fuck.

I totally get it.

Maybe she was really bad at her job with the district and this was just the final straw in letting her go? So, she then leaks it to the press and stomps around saying "IT'S NOT FAIR!!?"
