Glad you didn't end up fish food. Although the lobsters would have eaten more of you than the fish.

Steel tank?

That's why I dive a dual-bladder redundant backplate/wing set-up when I'm diving steel. If I lose inflation with doubled hp steel 120's my ass is going to be a dirt-dart.

I have AL doubles, but I like steel better. When I do shallow stuff around here (Islamorada) I usually just use an AL80 or a HP-93.

I'm using an HP-93 too. I've never experienced this sort of malfunction before so that partially freaked me out because I couldn't figure out what was wrong until much later. But realistically speaking, after talking with my shop guy (40-years of diving experience/instructor/master diver), he said I could have snorkeled back to the boat because the swim itself could have kept me afloat.

Probably. It's funny how rational, smart people sometimes miss stuff like that. In EVERY rescue I've ever done the first thing I do is inflate the divers BCD, 99% of the time they have forgotten to, obviously not the case with you, but it still surprises me how often it happens.

Sorry, no more pics of the meaty blondie. I'm trying to work on that, if ya know what I mean.

Azoom, I don't know when I'll be in Texas again, but if I were to ever be in the San Antone area, I'd definitely give you a holler.
