Yep...have been but I'm not tired of hearing stories like the former President doing things like posted in this thread yet this is the 'only' place I've seen it.

I think it's awesome for him to do that.

I just laughed at the part about it not being news because he didn't want to make a big production out of it...I bet Tiger wishes that would have worked for him.

I see neither as being newsworthy; the first because he was obviously trying to avoid receiving publicity for it, and the second because it happens to regular people on a daily basis.

Oh I wasn't talking about whether you or I see it as newsworthy I was meaning the media in general. It amazes me...well not really anymore I guess as to what they seem to find newsworthy.

Yeah, because the American and even World media likes to respect President Bush's privacy. If President Obama actually snuck away to Ft. Hood to check up on his soldiers then every news outlet would be praising the compassion of Obama.

Tiger is newsworthy because the AVERAGE person is curious about it. Want proof, check out the graphs showing the most popular stories on CNN or any other news site.

Blame the people, not the publication.

Likely not, which is why I also refer to them as "media" rather than "journalists" in most cases.

For Smittie: They did report on such things when Bush was in office.
