Fucking this. $8,000 is a fuckload of cash to blow on a busted transmission. What's the year make and model of your truck? What, exactly, are they fixing for $8K? I've got a buddy who owns a transmission shop up in Gainesville and when I worked with him, I never saw anything come through that got a quote near that high. Did you blow break the actual case? Is it electrical as well as physical damage?

if you're bein quoted $8k to fix a transmission, its time for a new vehicle. sell that piece of shit and buy yourself a newer vehicle, or since you're in South FL, go bike only unless you carry tools.
