And I just want to watch a polka dotted replay of the hand bra contest while Van Halen sings "I am hot for teacher" in the background...

I don't pretend to know what the market and requirements are for teachers up in the frozen tundra. I got my start in Special Education because the requierements were different and the demand was higher, but it is still allowing me to both work and go to school to finish my degree(s). After just a cursory search (http://www.workopolis.com/work.aspx?...687434&lang=EN) it apppears that there is more in the private sector (Montessori, et al) than in govt funded schools in your area. Might be a way to get started. As for the type of special ed I'm in (level 5 emotional disturbed kids) it is both the toughest and most challenging, yet also the most rewarding job I've had ( and I've had a few). Yet there are flks that also specialize in autism, or deaf, or sight impaired, or ADHT, ect. In the states, there is a constant demand for folks teaching this clientle; perhaps that is also the case in the Great White North? Just an idea....... |

Baby seal clubbing and trap line management are must-have skills. If you can't teach the basics, then more advanced stuff doesn't matter.

Damn OTB.... each time you post you get more mad respect from me. My grandfather did a job along the same lines as you, then later in life he ended up working with the disabled helping them with job and life skills. |
