I talked to the guy last night for about a half an hour, seems legit! Apparently, he's the second owner and bought it for $3200. If she gets this I'll be amazed! Oh and for the record, her deposit is refundable.
That is a great deal. I hope everything goes through. The other plus of getting a used bike is that she can have some money left over to start on the 600 fund or whatever else she may want.

Wait - shouldn't you be talking her out of it since she'll just be bored with it in a thousand miles?!? j/k!

Congrats to both of ya - good luck landing the deal & getting her started!

One advantage of the new 250 (beyond looking waaaay better - hell, I'd consider rocking one if I had a long commute!) - frame slider selection. Not sayin' she'll necessarily need them, but hey - cheap insurance....

Yea ha,ha,ha but remember she will be the third owner of this bike and it's an '08... Gee I wonder what happened to the other two owners hmmm...? I wonder why you can find so many of this rare bike on Craig's List and almost everyone is trying to get just about retail for them? I'll take a WILD guess, it's because they got talked into a 250 and now less than a year later, in some cases a few months, they want something else and are stuck with the loans. Heck, there are several listings of people trying to get you to take their bike's without titles for less than they owe until they get it paid off. I know that some people buy them and are happy indefinitely but for the most part they are "learner bikes" pure and simple. You buy them knowing that at some point you're going to replace it with what you really want. As will she. Shit dude, she has a Mustang GT and her family has a Porsche that she drives all the time, she's not going to be satisfied with this bike for long.

Yep! We're going to pick it up and possibly bring it home right now. BTW if this falls through, I've also contacted one of the postings that Kathy sent me for a back up (thanks Kath) so we should come home with SOMETHING today!
