Tablets are useful, but not for most people. I love them on the worksite for inventory/equipment tracking reasons. I don't want to carry a laptop and have to fiddle with a keyboard/touchpad out in the plant. Having a touch sensitive screen is nice, especially when it's large enough to be useful when dealing with large databases.

Now, I have a computer background as a hobbyist, my Dad taught me how to build computers when I was 12, so I'm not a dunce...yet far from an expert. Dad has been in IT for the past 20 years and even he has trouble. I've never had a Mac, but if they have less problems then I'm all about it.

My next computer will most likely be a Mac. However, this doesn't change the fact that an Apple logo is a status symbol for a lot of people that own a iphone/Mac/ipod

XP - No issues did everything I needed it to do
Vista - No issues did everything I needed it to Win7 - No issues does everything I need it to do Mac...nice but useless to me as an OS and it offers little value\per dollar Linux - Nice after a few days of headaches trying to get everything I want on it to work properly. Currently not worth the effort when I have other PCs\Laptops that get the same job done. When XP becomes a dinosaur, then I'll head back over to linux. |

Id like a tablet that I could use in my living room away from my desktop computer and also take on road trips that could surf the web, give me magazines like an e-reader and had quick power on and a log standby time like an iPod. I also would like to be able to integrate it with my home theater. I dont need a music player but the ability to connect to my TV with HDMI and play HD video from the web or built-in storage would be great.
