Calgary and edmonton put together are closer to 2 million, plus they are the only two major cities in Canada that are farther than 100 miles from a US border(everything in the maritimes except for PEI and NL are within 100 miles)

My numbers were a little off, i just did some googling..

And no, not everything in the maratimes is 100miles or less from a border. Most of NB and all of NS are farther than that. All of PEI and NL, as you said. aside from southwestern nb, we are all more than that from the border.

Ya, and moncton, northern, and eastern NB are 100 miles from edmunston.

Edmonston to here is 248km on google maps. Of course thats not a straight line, so we'll say 175 as the crow flies.

I know where the border is, and I realize it borders from edmunston down to the south end. But NB is still quite a bit more than 100 miles across.

How big do you think it is? It's about 500kms from Halifax to Nordern NB...

Moncton is about 200kms from the border as the crow flies according to google maps. If you don't count the little horn at the bottom that joins to Nova Scotia, it averages about 200-225kms across using the scale on google maps...
