When I'm stopped, I lean the bike against the inside of my left thigh while holding her up with my left foot...errr...tip toe. She leans like she's sitting on her kickstand.

I've had lowering links on my bike. I've lowered her and I remade the seat myself. I didn't like it so I raised her back to stock height. I even took off the lowering links (traded my lowering links for the ex's stock links because he wanted to raise his) and put a new stock seat on her (it was free lol ). Before I did, I practiced putting one foot down until I was comfortable. I can tip toe on both sides if the ground is level.

I'm hard headed and don't like having a handicap. For the most part I do just fine without having the bike lowered. I have a couple of issues with steep inclines, but I usually work around those somehow.

I do ride safely. I can hold the bike just fine with the ball of one foot down. If it will make you feel better, I'll try to remember to put both tip toes down whereever possible.

My bike is light and I have fairly strong legs so it's easy for me hold her up. It's also important to have the right footwear. For me, I wear a boot that won't slip when I stop. Also, having something with a thick sole helps ALOT.

There's alot of women on this board (LauraLynne comes to mind first) who have a short inseam and ride their bikes at stock height. And don't get Azooomm started, even though she's tall. She's seen female racers that couldn't touch at all that still ride just fine at stock height. It's all a matter of what the rider feels comfortable doing. Although I give Derf alot of shit because he's taller than me and his bike is lowered.

WooT!!!! You have two weeks!

Mine's a little rusty although I managed to knock some off when I had to fix my rear tire. A few days later I went riding with an old friend and a couple of his friends (people I've never ridden with before). I noticed their bikes were all shiny and pretty, except for the chain and theirs looked worse than mine. My bike may be dirty but my chain stays clean for the most part. The damn humidity here makes it hard to keep the rust off of it but considering everyone else's chains I've seen....mine is one of the cleanest.
