Ya, but did you see the game? They slept on the ice till the 3rd. Thats what they do. Conserve till the end, and explode. Sure, if you can score in the first and second your gonna. But they play tight defense in the neutral zone so they dont have to move much. Theres a lot of gas left at the end.

Hell you can compare a bunch of sports that are similar like that. Basketball would be another off the top of my head.

Also, Ice Hockey is a fairly new sport. It's most likely based off of field hockey which was played several hundred years prior to hockey by the Euros.

Indians been rocking Lacrosse before the Euros made their way over here and got bored as shit in all that ice and started playing ice hockey.
