i remember an acticle on some mag talking about gloves and welders gloves were the best bang for the buck

I have Teknic Lightning gloves right now but I'm thinking about the Teknic Violators or the Speedstars. Anyone have any experience with these two gloves? Speedstars are kangaroo palm, whereas the violators are cowhide. I'm leaning towards the roo gloves as they're only $25 more.

I'd go Speedstar, as the roo leather is a bit better and they have a bit more protection.

The gloves came today. They aren't bad for short commutes as far as protection goes. I wouldn't recommend them for any serious riding. They are comfortable and stick to my grips really well, but don't have any kind of padding or armor to speak of.

I got a pair of the perforated and solid gloves yesterday, and tried the perforated ones today. I used the measurement on the Newenough web site and ordered size large, but they are pretty tight. The leather is thin, but I can really feel the clutch and brake levers. Great for street riding. And I'll probably leave the US Army patch on.

I picked them up at a race I went to last year. I think I paid $30 for them. For the money, they're pretty nice! Some of the racers were wearing them.
