Houston Tops Our List Of America's Coolest Cities To Live

"Houston is joined in our top 20 by four other Lone Star metro areas: Dallas ranked fourth; San Antonio, 11th; Fort Worth, 13th; and Austin, 19th. They all boast strong economies, large young adult populations and relatively high levels of cultural diversity."

Good economy? Sure. Reasonable housing costs? Sure.

But "coolest" ???? That's a laugh.

Pretty hilarious that Austin ranked BELOW the other 4 Texas cities.......Proof that Forbes has a pretty warped concept of "cool"

Dunno. Austin is a "cool" area, sure. And it's probably easier on the eyes than Houston. But Austin is tiny compared to Houston, and pretty small compared to Dallas and San Antonio. Seems to me you couldn't help but have more cool things to do in those cities, just from sheer volume of things to do. And Fort Worth, a pretty active place in its own right, also has everything in Dallas available within about an hour's drive.

For myself, though, I could never live in Houston. Not for long. Not without blowing my brains out in traffic one day.

Ive only been to houston a few times. I would never live "in" houston. I dont know how it is now but as a kid I can remember seeing the smog and crap. I dont want to be around that crap.

One of the country's best economies and you still managed to lose your job. Now THAT is funny.
