Wouldn't that be redundant with a remake of "The Thing" already coming in October? (which I was not particularly happy about, except that it stars Mary Elizabeth Winstead. )

I liked The Thing, it was ahead of its time. My favorite was when the decapitated head sprouted spider legs and walked away.

Okay, I can deal with the idea of a prequel. I was having trouble imagining Mary Elizabeth Winstead as any of John Carpenter's characters (particularly Wilford Brimley ).
