Chas.....it's short for Charles. But can be a name. My bro's name is Chas (not Charles). But it makes me twitch because most people call him Chaz. It's like they can't make the "s" sound, so they substitute it with a "z". Even his girlfriend of 8 years calls him Chaz...which makes me won't to beat the hell out of her for not being able to pronounce it correctly after all this time.

Well the rules of morphology usually subscribe to a 'z' sound when an 's' occurs on the end of words (like that....not always....don't make me break out a diagram!).
Besides, Chazz is a popular name. I think it'd be weird to try and force an 's' sound on the end of that name....so that's probably why people do it. Oh and I like Colton. |
