Unhappy [AUS] The passing of an NW Austin Icon...

For those that dine at B.B. Rover's, you should know that principal owner Ron Downing died sometime between late Sunday Night and Monday morning at his home. The cause of death is awaiting the final autopsy report.

There will be a 'Labor Day Party'-like toast to Ron at 7PM at Rover's this Saturday.

No one is certain about the fate of the bar/restaurant. More will be known once his parents are in town and Ron's affairs are put in order.

Rest in Peace, Ron. You've earned it...

Oh man, that sucks.

I've only been in there a few times, but it's been a while.

RIP Ron.

For those that are interested, here's the 'notice' up on the B.B. Rover's website:

Oh man! I've been going to BB's for years and tried more different kinds of beers there than I can possibly remember. This is very sad news.
