Chicago
I posted in the ladies' room, but meant to post it out here:
In short, I've been asked what it would take ($$$ wise) to move us to Chicago; nothing definite, but there's a chance my job will require it sometime in 2011.... So, advice? Areas to look at (the job would be in the western burbs), areas to avoid? I understand it's HUGELY more expensive than North Florida, so just how hugely more expensive are we talking? I spent years playing gypsy (4 states in 2 years), but I've been pretty rooted for the last 11 years, so while it's not even a big blip on our radar just yet, I'm wanting to research it as much as possible before committing to the idea. |

LOL... Ok, well, that's the info I need to know.... Like I said, nothing definite at this point, just trying to weigh our options. It would take a lot to get us out of FL.

Chicago is awesome, it's the best big city in flyover country
Restaurants are as good as NYC, & great singles scene Definitely more expensive than Jacksonville (what isn't), but not as bad as DC or LA or NY/NJ. I'd say it's about like Atlanta. Weather isn't great, and the roads are mostly flat and straight, but other than that..... |

Just make sure to go to one of those days where she takes you to Australia or gives away a ton of free shit. I could deal with Oprah for an hour if I got a ton of free cool shit.
