Been doing some fishing
Anybody else here like to go fishing? Bike is still in the process of being put back together, and since I can't hit up the track, I've been going to the lake. Thought I'd share a pic of a recent catch. Caught this one with a plastic stik. I'm guessing it was in the 6-8 lb range, didn't have a scale.

Very nice! I can't wait to do another ocean trip. Not only is it fun, but it feels good taking a good meal home. With lake fishing, I C&R 100% of the fish.

Yeah, being out in the islands really spoiled me on fishing.... Looking forward to going and doing a charter or two when I get home.... My dad's record is like a 400+ lb marlin... I think I've got a pic of it around here somewhere. |

Nice photos.
I have done a little lake fishing each summer, nothing big by most people's standards. I think I would really enjoy a good Ocean fishing experience just because of how much I enjoy the little fish I caught on the lake. I figure if there are bigger fish to be had, there is more fun to be had as well. |

DAAAAAAAYMMMMM!!! That is SICK! Your pops is hardcore!
How long did he fight that thing for? Would love to try that out one of these days. I've been meaning to go to acapulco for that reason, I heard marlin fishing is pretty good there. Thanks for the props! It put up a pretty "good fight" (feels funny saying that after seeing the pic of the marlin LOL) and ran a few times before I landed it. (6lb line) Good Times! Quick281, the fun factor does increase with the fish size! Go get 'em!

I LOVE fishing, but mine is a little different. I'm an avid spearfisher. My best catch is a nice sized black grouper, about 26', and damn did he taste good blackened! My favorite target are snappers, yellowtails especially, they're smaller, and FAST and they're a bitch to get the drop on. Very tough to shoot. Hogfish taste the best, hopefully this summer I'll be shooting some big hogs and I'd like to hit a couple tuna. We'll see. (No pics, I'm at work)
Ambly, what "islands" are you referring to? I'm leaving for three months in the Keys next wednesday.

I have reeled in a 300+ blue marlin. That's hardcore shit, it takes a lot of fighting with those damn bastards. I miss deep sea fishing and the food in louisiana, but thats about all I miss from living down there.
