Cable vs DishNET/DSL
Anyone have any experiences? I really don't like the cable company at my new house (charter) and considering other options.
Internet wise cable would max 5 mbps and dsl would max 3 mbps. HDTV - Dish wins easy, but cable isn't effected by weather as easy.

I have satellite and it rarely gets fucked up by weather... and when it does, it flakes out for like 3 seconds and comes back... Only once in 8 months of hard Florida rains have I had it go out longer than that... and it was like 30 seconds...
My folks have the Dish and love it... they've had it for years and have never had it go out for more than a few seconds... As far as your broadband is concerned... how often do you max out your connection now? As long as you're reasonably close to the switching station, DSL will be fine. That's actually the fastest connection I've ever had... |

My DSL is just as fast as my cable was and I love my Dish HD. I rarely loose a signal and when I do it's less than a minute.

I was on 1.5MB DSL the whole time in Korea and I was fine with Xbox Live. I'm on a 3MB DSL now and it's the same.
