Nashville things to do
My GF, her sister, and I think one of her friends may be making a trip to Nashville in a few weeks or so.
Anyways what is there to do in Nashville? Where is a good place to stay at? Good bar area and bars? Also things to do in the daytime and places to avoid. thanks in advance

haven't been there in a number of years but from what I remember there was only one "strip" for anything interesting. all the little music places after that not so much.
homeless people were laying on sidewalks at night. The bars were interesting because there was a lot of wannabe talent. just meant the bar got their entertainment for free with a promise that a "scout" might be there any night. lunch stops generally had live music in the form of a guy with a guitar playing near tables. some good some not so much. it was an ok place to go, you gotta do it once right? I wound up living there for a year. ran out of gas money there so I had to stay for awhile. (true story) nice people. |

Broadway and 2nd ave are the two many "strips" downtown. Lots to do. Depends what you are into.

We like Big River Grille and Brewery, right near the end of Broadway (main strip downtown). Also, Phirana's Bar & Grill is a little hole in the wall, just off Broadway that has some awesome sandwiches. They are inspired by Primanti Brothers.
Our friends live in Nashville and we always stay with them when we visit, but when we were there for their wedding last year, we stayed in the Sheraton downtown, just a couple of blocks off Broadway. It was nice, clean, and the gym and pool were decent. Best thing was the location. Broadway and the streets jutting off of it are full of bars, clubs, and restaurants...and you'll find live music all over. If you feel up to it, head out to the Gaylord Opryland as it's quite impressive inside. Plenty of places to eat, drink and shop there. It's worth seeing once. |

Nashville predator games are good and the somet center is right infront of the bar district so after the game you can get torn up to all kinds of live music

We are mainly going to look for the bars and some cool little nashville star wannabes playing at them. I'm not sure what else they want to do. They just chose there because it is halfway between Atlanta and Indiana University. Is there some "Tourist" stuff you have to do in Nashville? Kind of like if you go to Chicago you have to go to the Sears/Willis tower to get a picture, Eiffel tower in Paris with a kiss, or a gay night club in San Francisco. Also what are some kick-ass places to eat???
